Millers-Point
is an area, or community of mostly vacation homes, located on Greers Ferry Lake in north-central Arkansas. It's approximately an hour south of the city of Mountain View. Millers Point offers gorgeous views of Ozark foothills and Greers Ferry Lake and is a prime vacation spot. Greers Ferry Lake is consistently ranked as one of the top ten clearest and cleanest lakes in all of North America. Greers Ferry Lake is actually two bodies of water connected by a water-filled gorge called the Narrows. The area of the two lakes and the Narrows totals about 40,500 acres with a combined shoreline of just over 340 miles. Greers Ferry Lake attracts many tourists year round. Since the 1970s, many luxurious homes have been built around the lake, and continue to be built. Activities at the lake include cliff diving, boating, fishing, scuba diving, water-skiing and other water-related sports, camping and picnicking. Several campgrounds and boat ramps that offer direct access to the lake. Greers Ferry Lake is nature at its finest, with its pristine water and scenic shoreline. There are 8 marinas around the lake that provide rentals of ski boats, pontoons, fishing rigs, house boats and other personal watercraft. The marinas also sell fishing gear and other supplies and provide boat service.

The northern highlands region of Arkansas has a humid subtropical climate, with some areas bordering on humid continental. Four seasons include hot, humid summers, mild to cool, dry winters and warm springs and falls. The northern region doesn't border the Gulf of Mexico, but it's still close enough for the large, warm body of water to influence the weather. Annual precipitation throughout the state averages between 40 to 60 inches; somewhat wetter in the south and drier in the northern part of the state. Snowfall is common in the north half of the state, which usually gets several snowfalls each winter. Arkansas is known for extreme weather, such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail, snow and ice storms.
